Did you say you didn't get any sleep?! (眠れないだってぇ?!/Nemurenai dattee?) is the twenty-fifth episode of the PaRappa The Rapper anime.
Summary[]
After catching a cold from Gaster, PJ can't sleep, which has an adverse effect on him. What's worse, he starts to grow larger every time he eats. After being sucked into PJ's little world (via his nose), PaRappa and co. try to expunge the Gaster Virus and save their friend.
Plot[]
PJ is laying on a bench, counting crows. he realizes its perfect weather for sleeping, and quickly does so within seconds.
It cuts to Gaster sneezing, and him and Groober walking out of a Pharmacy after picking up some stuff to help deal with the cold that Gaster caught.

The camera starts at a slightly overcast sky, where many crows are seen flying past. PJ One crow... two crows... three crows... fo... The camera pans down to PJ, who is laying on a bench, counting the crows as if they were sheep. PJ Ahh... this is perfect weather for sleeping... PJ falls asleep. the camera cuts to the front of a Pharmacy. Gaster Ah-choo~! Pharmancy Clerk Get well soon. It pans down to the doors, Gaster and Groober are seen walking out Gaster Ah-choo... ah-choo... Gaster My head hurts, my throat hurts... Gaster ...colds sure are painful -Gaster... They stop at the bench that PJ is resting at. Gaster Ah-choo! Gaster sneezes on PJ, and then him and Groober walk away. the germs from Gaster's sneeze can be seen lingering on PJ before it cuts to the next day. All except PJ What?! Katy No friggin' way! But you always...! Paula ...no matter the place...! Sunny ...no matter the time...! PaRappa ...even while you walk...! Matt ...sleep, and yet PJ... All except PJ ...did you say you didn't get any sleep?! Katy Why, why? Why the hell did this happen?! Paula Did you eat something bad?! Sunny Did you change pillows? PaRappa Did you pee before you went to sleep? PJ I, I have no freakin' clue... Matt O-oh-oh my GAWWWWD~! Matt At this rate, I can't be the straight man and yell, "PJ, don't sleep here~!!!!!" Mrs. Hippo We're in the middle of class here... Matt Yes, ma'am. Mrs. Hippo And so... Mrs. Hippo ...this thing becomes like this, then like that. Mrs. Hippo In other words, it happens like that and because this happens... Matt Look, PaRappa! Mrs. Hippo In the end, while these things happen, that becomes this. PaRappa Hmm? Matt Even though we're in class, that PJ is still awake! Mrs. Hippo Hmm, now that I think about it, it makes more sense to refer to those as these... Sunny That's pretty freakin' abnormal for him! Mrs. Hippo And that thing always happens while this happens... Katy To think PJ would be listening to a class seriously Mrs. Hippo ...And in short, that happens as a result! Paula ...He DOESN'T listen seriously! Mrs. Hippo walks over to PJ. Mrs. Hippo Ahem! PJ? PJ dashes his eyes towards Mrs. Hippo. PJ What?! Mrs. Hippo subtlety moves back, startled by his quick movement and overall appearance. PJ stands up from his chair. Mrs. Hippo W-what the-? PJ You smell like the awakening of love. PJ So, I was wondering, since a king is woken up by his mom and both the lion and the wolf have someone to wake them up... PJ ...why is there nothing to wake up the cat? PJ I mean, since the giraffe, eyes, darkness, mouths, and all these things also get woken up... PJ ...don't you think it's weird that there's no one to wake up the cat? Mrs. Hippo Hmm?! PJ Did you know... PJ ...that birds are often gifted with the opportunity to wake lives up? PJ And when ya wake up a peacock, it creates a chain reaction awakening, an octopus, a fowl, and a crow, and this happens pretty often. PJ Also, I'm not in the habit of making idols of wood that stubbornly survived in the past and giving it a weird name. PJ Oh yeah, the world awakens, the life is thin, but most of the underground fish, Marifumachi fish... PJ ...have been robbed, and apart from that, the flounder hand has been unraveled and attached to me. Mrs. Hippo Aaaaaaahhhhhhhhhh~!!!!! Hippo hits her fist on the desk several times. Mrs. Hippo Stop, stop, stop, STOOOOOOP~!!!!! The school bell rings. Mrs. Hippo Class ends here... Hippo walks away. it cuts back to PaRappa and his friends. Matt Something's wrong with PJ! Sunny I've never seen PJ talk so much... Paula Plus, I've never seen anyone talk so fast! Katy It made Mrs. Hippo cringe! PaRappa Maybe it has something to do with the fact that he can't sleep... All Hmm... All Ah! He's gone! It cuts to the outside of the classroom. Kid 1 I wish I had the ability to power up. Kid 2 That heat ray power was so cool! Awesome! PJ Speaking of awesome... PJ ...Speaking of that, mountains are more awesome when they eat the peel.... PJ ...what's amazing is if it weren't for this government, the city would completely sell... PJ ...a hero with a weird message quickly, their planet should be enjoyed, PJ ...it's going down with a culmination of tricks. PJ ...By the way, that beat is also touched, but on other planets the rhythm and the equipment is heartwarming... PJ ...maybe the very nice floor is a nice idea of a speedy character that slide thick hard grass ice as it is. The two kids float away, as if they'd been overwhelmed by PJ's nonsensical rants. PJ Wait! You can float for longer! PJ Hey, what I find funny and scary is my height. Some time ago I was involved with you and taught you something! It pans over to PaRappa and the rest of the gang, peeking out from the side of the door, and then goes back to PJ, spinning a broom like a disc with his finger. PJ Oh, the restless atmosphere... It pans back out to PaRappa and his friends. All I KNEW there was something wrong with him! Matt This is serious! PJ is relieving the stress of not being able to sleep by talking to whoever gets close to him! Sunny Poor PJ! Paula But why was he suddenly unable to sleep? It cuts to PJ sitting on one of the classroom chairs, pointing to his nose. PJ I don't feel too good in this area... All What?! PJ's snot bubble pops. All Ah! Now that ya mention it...! They imagine PJ floating in a bubbly environment and sleeping very peacefully. Paula Now that ya mention it, your snot bubble always swells beautifully! Katy That must be the cause! Sunny But why did it stop inflating all of a sudden? PJ shrugs. PJ Hell if I know... PaRappa Oh, what if...! PaRappa daydreams about 2 PJ's pumping air into a bubble blowing machine until it pops. PJs Huh...? They pump again, until it pops once more. PJs Huh...? The daydream sequence ends. Matt No freakin' way that could happen! Another daydream sequence occurs. this time PJ's moving across a screen, throwing darts to try and pop the falling bubbles. Matt That's wrong as well! Matt determinedly points his finger in the air. Matt In any case, we just have to make sure it won't break!!! The music stops. Mrs. Hippo We're in the middle of class! PJ's snot bubble pops. it transitions to them eating lunch. PaRappa That's a big appetite! Sunny It must be the stress. Katy I guess it relieves his stress... Paula And his insomnia is gettin' worse by the minute. Sunny, Katy and Paula all look at Matt Katy So, what should we do, Matt? PaRappa also looks over at Matt. Matt What? I-I-I-I don't know what to do, either. That's why I'm conversing with you guys as well! They suddenly all get blasted by a giant snot bubble. All Ah! they notice that PJ's much bigger than usual. Katy I-isn't PJ sorta, kinda gettin' a little too big? PJ's snot bubble starts inflating again. Matt Ah! Look out, he's about to do it again! Sunny, Katy and Paula start screaming, which prompts PaRappa and Matt to run out of the building carrying PJ. Sunny Wait~! Sunny, Katy and Paula chase after them. Paula Where are you going?! Matt In any case, let's just have a professional look at him! PaRappa A giant expert...? Matt No, a nose expert!! Matt We're going to the hospital to have an otolaryngologist look inside PJ's nose!! Sunny, Katy and Paula finally catch up to them, with Sunny and Katy looking exhausted in the back. Paula If the main problem is that he can't sleep, wouldn't it be quicker just to get a hypnotist? Katy So why not just go to a relaxation facility? Huh, huh, huh? Sunny Hey, why not make him exercise a lot. It'll make him tired and he'll be able to sleep. PaRappa Alright, sports center it is, then. Matt Since the reason he can't sleep is because of his nose... Matt ...it makes more sense to take him to a hospital, no matter how ya slice it. Paula To hell with that! As long as he can fall asleep, it doesn't matter what we try, right?! Matt But that won't end up being a fundamental solution, will it?! Katy Think of PJ's feelings! All Sports center...? Listen to me!... Relaxation! They continue to randomly banter with each other, while PJ walks off and goes into a nearby store. Matt 'Ey, yo, yo, PJ, where the hell are you going?! As PJ walks in, a party popper thing opens up and a sign as well as confetti falls from it Store Manager Da-da-da-da, Congratulations! Store Manager You're our 10,000th customer! The Store Manager pulls PJ aside to a table. Store Manager Come on, now! Store Manager Thank you for your business! All ya can eat donuts! Donuts out the wazoo! The Manager piles plates upon plates of donuts on the table. Store Manager Here ya go! Here, please, eat as much as ya like! |
